Roto NT Tilt First - Windows for Children’s Rooms with Protection Against Opening
Windows open our home up to the world. They are also a source of curiosity to little explorers unaware of the pitfalls. Accidents are never far away. Sometimes, a child playing in its room only has to hear a friend’s voice from the sandbox outside to come to the window. The child will bring a chair if the handle is out of reach. With this sort of assistance, any child can open a window and lean outside. What happens next may be extremely serious
Securing windows installed in children’s rooms has never been properly addressed. This also applies to kindergartens and schools. Roto engineers have analysed the problem and come up with a solution that prevents children from opening windows.
The Roto NT Tilt First protection mechanism uses Tilt First, a technology developed by Roto. Once the handle has been turned 90 degrees, the window becomes tilted. The window handle has a cylindrical lock insert which does not allow the window to move from this tilt position to being opened. Only after the key has been turned will the lock be released to allow the handle to be turned upright and open the window. Moving the handle back to tilt position automatically reengages the lock.
Ventilation is perfectly safe. A tilted or shut window can only be opened by the person who has the key, and this should never be a child. Anyone can tilt the window without the key, but no one can open it. This solution ensures child safety and permits room ventilation by tilting the window.
If a child’s room is to be used for another function – say as a sitting room or a study – the window opening lock can easily be removed. Only the hardware needs to be changed, not the entire window structure.
Child safety:
- TiltFirst technology: tilt then open
- Lock in tilt position: Without a key you can tilt the window but not fully open it.
- Window handle locked with a key: Window can only be opened by the person who has the key to the lock on the handle.

Micro ventilation is a solution providing you with comfortable and regular air circulation in the apartment. A new type of fastening applied in ROTO consists only of one piece of fastening installed on the frame.
False handle positioning block – another multifunction element of the ROTO system is the false handle positioning block, which functions additionally as a wing-lifting device. It enables precise wing placement into a frame and prevents the wing from hinging out in case of faulty operation
Clasp joining – the former way of element joining has been substituted by a clasp joining system. Thus the application of stable and precise joining is very simple – it is done just by clasping and driving the screws. Due to that also all the extruding elements are also excluded.
Opener – due to the integrated opening stabilizer installed in the opener, the wing might be blocked at any opening position. This prevents accidental slamming of the wing during extremely windy weather.
ROTO handles and covers used by Oknovid are perfectly matched with the rest of the ferruling. Due to the wide spectrum of colors available handles and covers constitute an important decoration element of the window.
